District Benchmarks
Hamlin students will be busy in the coming months as they prepare to take district benchmark assessments in preparation for Spring TAKS testing.
Benchmark testing schedule:
Wednesday, January 27th - 7th grade Writing
Tuesday, February 23rd - 8th grade Math
Wednesday, February 24th - 8th grade Reading
Tuesday, March 9th - 6th and 7th grade Math
Wednesday, March 10th - 6th and 7th grade Reading/ 8th grade Science/History
Hamlin Middle School Honored
Hamlin Middle School was recognized as a 2009 Higher Performing School by the National Center for Educational Achievement’s Just for the Kids Campaign for our Reading achievement. The Just for the Kids effort began more than 10 years ago with a goal of raising student achievement using data as a way to shine a light on what higher performing schools and districts are doing differently to find success. Hamlin’s student academic performance, as measured by state standardized assessments, was tracked over a three year period. Each year our students’ academic performance in Reading show substantial improvement from the year before. Last year’s academic achievement in Reading was measured by the state as being exemplary!

TAKS testing is just around the corner. It's time for ALL Hamlin students to SHINE and show what they have learned all year long.
The testing schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, April 6th - 8th grade Math
Wednesday, April 7th - 8th grade Reading
Tuesday, April 27th - 6th and 7th grade Math
Wednesday, April 28th - 6th and 7th grade Reading
Thursday, April 29th - 8th grade Science
Friday, April 30th - 8th grade History
